In the wake of the New Year’s Day attack in New Orleans, The Blood Center is urging local donors to consider giving blood at this crucial time.
To that end, they have announced a series of local donation opportunities, including at the following times and locations:
The Mandeville Donor Center, 4350 Louisiana 22, Suite K, will be open today (Jan. 2) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Pelican Athletic Club, 1170 Meadow Brook Blvd. in Mandeville, will be a donor center today (Jan. 2) from noon to 5 p.m.
You can find other upcoming blood drives in your area at The Blood Center website.
Separately, United Way of Southeast Louisiana has established the United for New Orleans Relief Fund to provide direct support to victims of the attacks and their families. Donations will help cover medical expenses, funeral costs, trauma counseling and more, with 100% of donations go directly to those impacted.
