With COVID cases continuing to rise across the Northshore, and with vaccination rates still troublingly low, WWL-TV recently turned to a proven expert to discuss the situation: St. Tammany Health System’s own Dr. Mike Hill.
Dr. Hill, an infectious disease expert recently named one of CityBusiness’ 2021 Health Care Heroes, was interviewed by WWL reporter Erika Ferrando for a segment about COVID trends on the Northshore, which have rapidly worsened over the past several days.
As of this morning (Tuesday, July 13), STHS had 19 patients under COVID care in its Covington hospital. That’s the highest COVID-positive count it has had since Feb. 27.
The overwhelming majority of patients admitted recently admitted for COVID have been unvaccinated.
